General Chairperson

General Chairman, Polly Voon, PCCWith its varied cultural offerings, world-class attractions, championship sports teams, water recreation opportunities, a vibrant Latin heritage with its savory Spanish and Cuban influenced cuisine; Tampa is an ideal venue to host the 36th Annual USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum.

Tampa Bay has all the best of Florida in one place. It is a city by the Bay where you can stroll along the Riverwalk and nearby sandy beaches in near constant sunshine. Yes – there is a theme park here also - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay – and the Florida Aquarium. Hop on a historic streetcar to Channelside cafes and shops. A visit to Ybor City is also a must.

The cigar industry boomed in the 1890s and cigars are still being produced but the area business community has diversified. Shopping is a must in quaint villages or magnificent plazas, incredible dining choices from fresh seafood to Spanish old world flavors to the best steaks anywhere.

Consider extending your stay either before or after the Forum to enjoy all that Tampa Bay and Florida has to offer visitors.

Forum proceedings will take place in the spectacular Tampa Convention Center with featured speakers including the 2012-2013 President of Lions Clubs International, professional speakers Steven Fulmer, James Malinchak and Mary Feeley. You will be entertained, inspired and educated with their messages.

You will be entertained by Professional Speaker James Malinchak who was featured in ABC’s 2011 Reality Show “Undercover Millionaire”, educated by human strategist Steven Fulmer and then you will listen, laugh, and learn with Mary Feeley.

Tampa Bay is rich in history and folklore. It is rumored that legendary pirate, Jose Gaspar, who “owned” Tampa Bay during the 18th century just might make his presence known.

The Host Committee under the leadership of Past Council Chairperson Jackie Cameron is excited about showcasing the best that Tampa Bay and Multiple District 35 have to offer Forum attendees.

Won't you join us for a Lions Invasion of Tampa Bay?
